The Cadillac was once the leading car manufacturer in the whole world, but nowadays it might just be a well-known brand, with much of its glory lost to its rivals. The giant car manufacturer may, however, be in the process of flexing its muscles to get back to the top. The car manufacturer has been redesigning some of its older variants, improving them in terms of design and specifications. Their current work includes an improved variant of the Cadillac XTS, the 2017 Cadillac XTS, which will don better design features than its predecessors. Cadillac’s intention is to expand the power range in their XTS flagship sedan with the petrol twin turbo 6-cylinder engine, with an additional two new electronic systems added to the list of equipment.
2017 Cadillac XTS – Exterior, Interior, and Trim:
Though Cadillac may not have revealed much as regards to the 2017 Cadillac XTS features, spy shots reveal that the new model will come with a bolder look. The interior, especially, will reportedly be bespoke and luxurious. This new model might also come with a platform upgrade.
The model comes in four main trims: the Platinum Collection, the Premium Collection, the Luxury Collection, and the Base model.
For the past six years in production, the XTS is well-known for its interior roominess as well as comfort, being it’s most sought after traits. The 2017 Cadillac XTS is essentially a carryover model, not with much of noticeable changes especially for its exterior. The base’s list of standard features will include LED tail lights, rear parking sensors, a power telescopic-and-tilt steering wheel, 19-inch wheels, remote start, leather seats, adaptive suspension dampers, a 60-40 split folding rear seatbacks, lockable pass-through, 8-way power front seats, xenon headlamps, keyless ignition and entry and rear air springs.
Standard equipment will include Cadillac’s CUE infotainment system, a 4G LTE connection, Wi-Fi hotspot capability, Bluetooth phone and audio, USB connectivity, an 8-speaker Bose sound system, HD and satellite radio, Apple CarPlay smartphone integration, a CD player, and an 8-inch HD color touchscreen.
The XTS Luxury Collection will feature an additional extended wood trim, heated steering wheel, rear parking sensors, visible chrome dual-exhaust outlets, driver and passenger memory settings, a navigation system, automated parallel-parking system, rearview camera, rain-sensing wipers, heated rear board seats, ventilated front seats, and interior LED lighting. Other features that come as options include a surround-view camera system, lane-departure warning system, rear cross-traffic alert, blind spot monitoring, and a vibrating safety alert driver seat.
2017 Cadillac XTS – Dependable Engine:
There will be a naturally aspirated 3.6 liter v6 engine under the FWD 2017 Cadillac XTS hood. A six-speed automatic transmission will transfer 305 horsepower at 264-foot pounds of torque to the standard FWD or the optional XTS4 (a form of AWD system). For those who would like to have more power under the hood, there will be a 3.6-liter twin-turbocharged engine with an output of 410 horsepower at 369-foot pounds of torque.
It will take about 5.2 seconds for an XTS V-sport to take off from o mph to 60 mph.
Fuel economy will be well in the range of 16 mpg for the city and 24 mpg on highway, with variations coming with engine options.
The 2017 Chrysler 300 will be the main challenger for this model, especially in the American market. It comes with an optional AWD system and a variety of v6 and v8 variants and a list of enticing upscale features. The 2017 Hyundai Genesis will also offer some close competition especially with its recent redesign and new cabin arrangement.
Other contenders for the hot seat of market dominance in the sedan class include the 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class as well as the 2017 Audi A6 sedan.
Despite all the competition in terms of performance and luxury trims, the 2017 Cadillac XTS still remains an optimal choice for this segments.
