2017 Chevrolet Volt MPG, Review

The Chevrolet is in the process of designing a new car model which will be part of the second-generation Chevy Volt. During the 2015 North American International Auto Show, the American automobile manufacturer promised to introduce a number of models and variants in this generation. The upcoming plug-in hybrid model will be called the 2017 Chevrolet Volt.

2017 Chevrolet Volt – Exterior and Interior Features:

According to the car manufacturer, the hatchback will be based on the GM Delta II platform. The first-generation Volt is based on the same platform, so the new car will share a lot of features from its predecessor. But we expect it to come with fine-tuned exterior features and a body resembling that of a modern car.

The front end of the 2017 Chevrolet Volt will look stylish with LED headlights that are integrated with the upper grille. There will be LED DRLs and a larger grille in the lower fascia. In the rear end, the car will feature resized LED taillights and a small bumper just like in any other hatchback. Other exterior features include attractive 17-inch wheels and bigger side mirrors. Chevrolet will keenly design the interior of the 2017 Chevrolet Volt to ensure it offers enough space and comfort & convenience needed in a hatchback. The car is expected to have a roomier seating and cargo space. Concerning cabin materials, there will be leather on the seats, steering wheel, and other few cabin components.

The cockpit will be spiced up by the next-generation infotainment system that is capable of supporting many technological features. The system will consist of an 8.0-inch screen display and will be the control center for other tech features such as navigation, satellite & HD radio, climate control, and sound. Moreover, the car will get a number of connectivity features such as phone, Bluetooth audio, MyLink interface and auxiliary audio jack.

2017 Chevrolet Volt – Hybrid Powerhouse:

The hatchback will come with a hybrid powerhouse consisting of an IC engine and two motors. The engine will be a 1.5-liter I4 capable of generating 101 hp and 180 lb-ft. The motors will generate 149 hp and 95 lb-ft.

The engine will be connected to an automatic transmission system. The car will have a top speed of 101 mph and will take 7.8 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph. In all-electric mode, the car will cover 50 miles while in hybrid mode it will travel 420 miles. The powertrain will be equipped with sophisticated features to improve fuel efficiency and environment friendliness. You can look forward to fuel consumption figures of around 38 mpg in cities and 46 mpg on highways.

Safety and Security:

The new 2017 Chevrolet Volt will be fitted with a myriad of safety, security and protection features. It will get ABS, rearview camera, rear cross-traffic alert, cruise control, security alarms, blind-spot monitors, airbags, parking assist, lane keeps assist and seatbelts, among others.

2017 Chevrolet Volt – Price, Release Date, and Competitions:

The starting price of the new 2017 Chevrolet Volt will be around $34,000. So it will be a bit expensive hatchback. The premium models will retail at higher prices. You can expect to part with more than $40,000 to own the highly refurbished model. As for the release date, the car will start selling in the last quarter of 2016.

Competitions:

The Chevrolet vehicle enthusiasts think that the new plug-in hybrid compact car will be rivaled by the following cars: Ford Fusion SE, Toyota Prius, Kia Niro, Hyundai Ionic, BMW i3, Rex and Cadillac ELR.
