Chevrolet Trax 2017 Review, Modification Under the Hood

The Chevrolet Trax is one of the concept cars that appeared at the 2012 Paris Auto Show. The subcompact crossover SUV was also showcased at the 2013 Detroit & Montreal auto expos as a final model. The production model hit the market in late 2013, and since then, there have been a number of facelifted models & variants. The American automobile manufacturer has decided to carry out a major redesign project on the car which will be evidenced in the Chevrolet Trax 2017 model.

Chevrolet Trax 2017 – More Comfort, More Style:

According to the automobile manufacturer, the Trax will be built on the GM Gamma II platform.  This platform is available in Buick Encore, Opel Mokka, and Chevrolet Aveo & Sonic. The new car is therefore expected to share a lot of exterior features with these models.

When it comes to the features, the front end of the Chevrolet Trax 2017 will have the iconic company’s grille, but with some minor modifications. This end will also have halogen projector headlamps and LED daytime running lights. In the rear end, there will be dual taillamps and a magnificent tailgate. Other exterior features highly anticipated in the new crossover include 16&18-inch aluminum wheels for the base & premium models respectively and indicator-fitted side mirrors.

In the interior, the Chevrolet Trax 2017 will have comfortable seats covered with high-quality material. Also, the entire cabin will be decorated with classic colors making it very elegant. The cabin will be roomier enough to provide enough space for all passengers. The rear seats are foldable, something which will provide some space for luggage.

The interior will now have a dashboard with a refurbished center console and an instrument cluster panel. The console will have a touchscreen display, a navigation unit, and a premium audio system. Other high-tech equipment expected of the new car include an automatic air conditioning system and connectivity systems.

Chevrolet Trax 2017 – Modification Under the Hood:

As announced by the car manufacturer, the Trax will come with few engine choices. You can look forward to a 1.4-liter turbo I4 engine rated at 138 hp and 148 lb-ft of torque.

The engine will work with 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission system. So, we expect the new SUV to record excellent fuel economy figures. We are looking forward to fuel consumption figures of 27 mpg city and 35 mpg on highways. The upcoming crossover will also get all protection features of a typical Chevrolet car. Furthermore, the new model will have airbags, anti-lock brake system, lane-keep assist system, stability assist system, blind-spot monitors, seatbelts, security alarms, keyless entry, adaptive cruise control and rearview camera, among other safety and security features.

Chevrolet Trax 2017 – Pricing and Competition:

Finally, new Chevrolet Trax 2017 will have a starting price of around $21,000. Concerning the release date, the new car will available in fall of 2016. The model for 2017 will get a rival such as Mercedes GLA, Mazda CX-3, Audi Q3, BMW X1, Kia Soul, and others similar model.
