The exterior of this MPV is completely changed and its length will be 187.8 inches, a width of 74.2 inches and height measuring 65.4 inches. The front grille has been redesigned and a single large air vent sits below it. This car’s chassis is made up mainly of carbon fiber and there are four doors, two of which slide backward. The base trim of the 2017 Ford Galaxy will have 16-inch wheels while higher trims will have 17-inch wheels with a larger wheelbase for better stability. Minor retouched have been done on the door handles, front windshield, and rear cargo door.
The interior of this MPV has a spacious cabin with three rows of seats that can fit seven people. This makes the new Ford Galaxy the perfect car for large families. The base trim will have quality fabric and leather as seat covers while higher trims have an all leather seat cover. A display screen for navigation will not be offered as standard equipment, buyers will have to pay extra if they want it. To increase cargo space; the third row of seats can be folded inwards although there is already ample luggage space. For entertainment; there is an 18 speaker acoustic audio system, Bluetooth, USB ports, audio jacks and Smartphone integration. Safety has also been enhanced in the 2017 Ford Galaxy and the features include adaptive cruise control, lane departure sensors, tire pressure monitoring system, auto braking and child locks.
2017 Ford Galaxy – Engine Expectations:
The new Ford Galaxy will have 3 engine options; two petrol and one diesel variant. The petrol engines are an Eco-Boost 1.5 liter four-cylinder engine that outputs 160 hp. The second petrol variant is a 2.0-liter four-cylinder Eco-Boost engine with an output of 240 hp; this engine will have an average fuel efficiency of 28 miles per gallon. Both these engines are mated to a six-speed automatic transmission gearbox and offered as front wheel drives. The diesel option is a 2.0 liter 4 cylinder TDCI engine that generates 182 hp; it is also a front wheel drive and mated with six-speed automatic transmission gearbox.
2017 Ford Galaxy – Price and Expected Release Date:
The 2017 Ford Galaxy is set to be released in mid-2016 or late 2016 if it delays. The American market will get this car first before being released in other markets. Price will range from $25,000 to $33,000 depending on the engine and optional additional features. The competition will be tough with BMW, Mercedes and Honda set to release advanced MPVs too.
