While its name, performance, and appearance speak volumes, it is the story behind the Ford GT that captures our hearts. A little more than fifty years ago, Ford wanted to be associated with the fastest racing car in the world and that was Ferrari. Unfortunately, the owner of Ferrari refused to sell out which drove ford absolutely crazy. He gave out an unlimited budget and an order to his engineers to build the best race car ever seen in the world and beat Ferrari at his own game. True to his word, the Ford GT40 went on to beat Ferrari four times in a row. Let’s take a look of upcoming 2017 Ford GT.
2017 Ford GT – Rich Interior and Stylish Exterior:
The biggest difference we will notice about this new version is the fact that it’s in sparkling blue and not it usual white. It is also made with an extremely light carbon fiber and aluminum to make it very light as it is a race car. This weight change will also be good for braking and acceleration. Ford has retained its signature look on the front where the mid-engine is wedge-shaped and sloppy with huge dual ducts but the back looks more round and has sleeker lines. The greenhouse is wider and the four exhaust outlets are definitely bigger. The 2017 Ford GT will have two doors that swing upwards to open, it has larger mirrors and the windshield is thinner, damage resistant and more round.
The inside of the 2017 Ford GT is very narrow making the only two seats pretty close to each other. It is said that the seats will be fixed for safety while the steering wheel and the pedals are adjustable. All the necessary controls are mounted on the steering wheel for better access and to give room to the shift paddles. A touch screen display is centrally placed and has a Sync 3 infotainment system. The location of the starter button and transmission selector buttons is crazy but more obsessive are the door mounted HVAC Vents.
2017 Ford GT – Top Speed and Transmission:
Fords twin-turbocharged 3.5 liter V6 engine producing more than 600 hp and making 500 lb of torque will be the next main change in the Ford GT. This monstrous engine will give the rear wheels’ power through a seven-speed dual clutch automatic transmission. A lot of technological enhancements have been made to the car to ensure it handles the most powerful engine ever without issues. With its 20-inch alloy rims covered with sticky Michelin rubber, 2017 Ford GT will be able to do 200 miles per hour speed and break the 4-second barrier in 60 mph sprint.
2017 Ford GT – Expected Date of Arrival and Price:
It has been confirmed that Ford will make only 1000 cars annually and the first batch of the Ford GT that will be manufactured next year. The many improvements this car will go through leaves the estimated cost to be around $400,000.
