2017 Ford Shelby Hertz GT-H

The Ford Mustang generated quite a lot of buzz among car enthusiasts when it was unveiled in the year 1964. The first generation Shelby GT350S. It’s now 50 years since Shelby released the GT350-H for the Hertz Corporation and Ford has released a 50th-anniversary edition of the car dubbed the 2017 Ford Shelby Hertz GT-H.

2017 Ford Shelby Hertz GT-H – Beautiful Exterior and Interior:

Shelby, Ford, and Hertz came together to invent a worthy tribute to the legend. Though the 2017 Ford Shelby Hertz GT-H may not be as aggressive as the high-performance GT350, it packs a lot of impressive features that stand out against the GT350. Starting with the bones of the 2016 Ford Mustang GT, they added the black paint with the golden racing stripes that we have come to expect. Additionally, the car comes with more stripes on the rocker panels. The car sports Shelby “GT-H” lettering along with several other emblems on different positions such as the front grille, rear faux gas cap and the trunk lid. Shelby added a vented hood and replaced both the front splitter and rear spoiler with elements made of carbon fiber to further set it apart from a standard Shelby GT. The hood has the signature bulge common in other Shelby model all this rolling on 19” aluminum high-performance wheels.

Overall, the 2017 Ford Shelby Hertz GT-H interior seems to be inspired by the Mustang GT`s and only a couple of features set them apart. The car is fitted with sporty seats that bear the GT-H emblem on the headrests and a plaque with numbers on the dashboard. Entertainment will not disappoint with the newly released Sync 3 infotainment system. Additionally, the car also comes with Shelby GT-H sill plates.

2017 Ford Shelby Hertz GT-H – Powerful Engine:

Though Shelby has not officially released any information about the engine output, we do know that the 2017 Ford Shelby Hertz GT-H has the same 5.0 liter V-8 you would find in a Mustang GT. Given that fact, it is probably safe to assume that it generates the same 435 hp (horsepower) at 400-pound-feet of torque. This is different from the preceding Hertz which had an extra 25 horses and 10-pound feet. Therefore, the performance should be similar with 0-60 mph in 4.5 seconds and 13 second quarter-mile times.

2017 Ford Shelby Hertz GT-H – Price, Rival, and Release Date:

The pricing information has not and will not be released. Why? The limited edition, 2017 Ford Shelby Hertz GT-H will not be available for purchase by customers. The manufacturers plan to build a limited number which will later be delivered to Hertz where they will be used as rental cars. Eventually, the car could be available in the used car market in a few years at anywhere around $100,000 judging by the previous models, but don’t hold your breath for it. If you really want to have a GT-H in your garage, a Mustang GT is your best option. There has been no official word on when we can expect the 2017 Ford Shelby Hertz GT-H to be released.

Rivals:

Hertz Mustang has never really had an actual competitor since Chevrolet and Dodge don’t manufacture similar cars for rental but the Chevrolet Camaro SS is a very valid contender given its energetic V-8 engine and sleek body. The 2016 model features a completely overhauled design and a 6.2-liter engine. It generates 455 hp and 455-pound feet of torque. The Camaro sprints 0-60 in 4.3 seconds on a 6-speed manual transmission or 8-speed automatic transmission. The initial GT350-H achieved legendary status only months after release. Now, it is currently one of the most sought after classic Mustang and with good reasons. The 40th-anniversary version was a game changer and the idea of the release of another GT-H this time inspired by a 6th generation Mustang GT is definitely exciting.
