The Genesis G80, originally known as the Hyundai Genesis, is a full-size luxury sedan that debuted in 2008. The car is manufactured by the luxury vehicle subsidiary for Hyundai (Genesis Motors) and is in its second generation. The subsidiary is planning to release a more refurbished model that will be known as the 2017 Genesis G80.
2017 Genesis G80 – Compact, Sleeker, and Super Modern Design:
The G80 will be based on the same design platform as the outgoing model- Hyundai Genesis. Its body will however get a major redesigned work. The car will be made more compact, sleeker and super modern in order to compete with other luxury sedans out there. The front end of the 2017 Genesis G80 will have a revised grille with horizontal slats & the brand’s logo, LED fog lamps and sharp headlamps. This end will also be decorated with chrome insert wraps. In the rear end, there will LED taillights and twin dual exhaust outlets. Other notable features include classic windows and 19-inch wheels.
Interior wise, the 2017 Genesis G80 will be designed to accommodate 5 passengers. It will have enough spaces around the seats and at the back that can hold some luggage. Concerning materials, the luxury car will feature wood trim in the upper dashboard & door panels and leather in the seats & steering wheel. When it comes to technology, the G80 will have an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with a 14-speaker Lexicon system, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and a navigation unit. Other tech features include Bluetooth capability, HD radio, USB auxiliary jack, SiriusXM and automatic climate control.
The new Genesis car will come with a long list of safety and security features. It will have automatic emergency braking, rearview camera, basic sensors, smart cruise control, high beam assist, lane keeps assist, seatbelts, blind-spot detection, airbags and parking assist.
2017 Genesis G80 – Engine and Associated Details:
The new 2017 Genesis G80 will have two engine choices. The first option will be a 3.8-liter V6 engine rated 311 hp and 293 lb-ft. The second option and the last one will be a 5.0-liter V8 engine rated 420 hp and 383 lb-ft.
The two drivetrains will be backed by a 6 or 8-speed automatic system that will transmit power to the rear wheels. With the V8 engine, the car will achieve a top speed of 150 mph and accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 5.4 seconds. The 3.8-liter engine will offer better fuel efficiency of around 23 mpg in the city and 29 mpg on the highway. All the engines are expected to comply with EPA rules, regulation and laws.
2017 Genesis G80 – Rumors Date, Price, and Competitions:
The price of the low-end model is set at $41,100 while top premium model at $54,550. On the side of the release date, the car will be seen on the roads for the first time in the last quarter of 2016.
