Korean auto giant Hyundai, are set to release the 2017 Hyundai Veloster which will be a second generation car of this model. Many changes have been made in the car including an engine upgrade that promises more power and better fuel economy. Highly advanced gadgets will be installed in this car as it targets a youthful market that likes sports cars that are fast. No change has been made on the wheelbase and ground clearance remains the same.
2017 Hyundai Veloster – First impression:
The exterior has a hexagonal grill at the front that is embedded inside a muscular looking bumper. LED headlights extend up to the hood of the car and this helps focus much of the light on the road ahead. The length of this car will be 167.3 inches and the height is 55.1 inches. Below the grille is two air vents with LED fog lights inside them. The sides have indented lines that give this car character. 18-inch alloy wheels with a wheelbase of 104.3 inches have been used; the suspension has been raised and darkened making the chassis appear to be hovering over the tires. The roofline of the 2017 Hyundai Veloster slant backward and flattens at the rear which has LED tail lights.
In the interior of the 2017 Hyundai Veloster can fit five passengers; there are two rows of seats with the front sports seats raised for a better road view. Legroom is sufficient with headroom reduced for back passengers due to the sloping rooftop. Leather covers with orange edges are on all seats with the steering wheel having a perforated leather cover for an improved grip. The dashboard is made entirely from hard plastic and it has been improved by removing clutter and all the knobs placed within reach of the driver. There is a high-definition display, dual zone internal climate system, a quality 7 speaker audio system with external amplifier and subwoofer, Bluetooth for hands-free calls and USB ports for phone charging and audio input. Satellite navigation with voice activation has also been incorporated. Standard safety features include 3 point seatbelts, tire pressure monitoring, cruise control, traction control, child locks and automatic braking. A rear view camera has been installed in the back and is connected to the display.
2017 Hyundai Veloster – Updates and Tweaks under the Hood:
The 2017 Hyundai Veloster will have a 1.6 liter 4 cylinder engine that will output 132 hp and 166-pound foot of torque. This will be mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission gearbox and will be a front wheel. There a turbocharged version of this same engine that will output 201 hp at 6000 rpm and 265 lb-ft torque, this will be mated with a seven-speed dual clutch transmission to the front axle. This engine can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 6.7 seconds with the top speed being 140 mph. Fuel efficiency will be an average of 33 miles per gallon in both city and highway.
2017 Hyundai Veloster – Launch Date and Price:
The 2017 Hyundai Veloster is set to be released to the market in the fourth quarter of 2016 with starting price of $19,000 for the base trim and $23,500 for the turbo engine trim. Competition is expected to come from BMW’s mini SUVs.
