The 2017 Mazda RX7 will come with the power and sweetness of a modern sports car. The car is currently a growing topic in discussions among fans of Mazda because of its new innovative engine that has been labeled as the SkyActiv-R. The car is expected to make a return with less complexity, less weight, and more emphasis on the involvement of the driver. According to a report from an auto express expert, the new 2017 Mazda RX7 is going to be bigger and more powerful than the MX-5 roadster. The new RX will get a new name RX ProVision.
2017 Mazda RX7 – Exterior and Interior Design:
The changes to the car’s profile will include a slightly larger grille on its front, new multi-spoke wheels, and production door handles. Up-front, the Mazda RX7 is expected to acquire a revised grille and bumper and also a new pair of headlamps. Although the overall shape and size of the production grille will still remain the same, the unit is expected to receive a chrome surround and horizontal slats that are seen on all the current models of the Mazda. Underneath, the bumper side intakes are going to be a bit larger while the center section and splitter are going to remain unchanged. The car is also expected to acquire a revised tailgate, tail lights that have been mildly redesigned without the floating spoiler, and a new diffuser.
The 2017 Mazda RX7’s interior is going to be clean and simple. However, the interior is also going to undergo a few changes like the door panels, instrument cluster, and center console. The center console is more likely to receive the most changes as the car will get a standard center stack with various knobs and buttons. An infotainment system and a large display are also expected to be added but it still remains to be seen whether the screen will be incorporated into the center stack or mounted atop the dashboard as it is evident in most modern Mazda vehicles. The RX7 is also expected to have a multi-functioning steering wheel and a more comprehensive instrument cluster behind it.
2017 Mazda RX7 – Engine and Top Speed:
The 2017 Mazda RX7’s engine and drive-train are still a big mystery as Mazda has said nothing about it aside from the fact that it will be a Wankel and referred to as the SkyActiv-R. Rumors, however, suggest that the car might utilize turbocharging and that will be aimed more towards the Porsche Cayman. The 2017 Mazda RX7 sports car will be lighter than the Cayman at around 2,700 lb which means that it would require at least 250 hp so as to make an impact on this particular niche. It is expected to have a sprint speed of about 0 – 60 mph in about 5 seconds and a top speed of about 150 mph.
2017 Mazda RX7 – Price and Release Date:
The new Mazda RX7’s price has not yet been announced, but it is expected to be Mazda’s most expensive car in the current line-up costing more than $35,000 in base trim. The car is expected to be released around Dec 2017.
