The 2017 Mercedes GLS is going to be a significant upgrade and changed with a new name for what was previously simply known as the GL-Class. The exterior changes will be replaced from the GL-Class and will be slightly more obvious than the extra letter in its badge. The design of the 2017 Mercedes GLS will be somewhat similar to the GLE model and this may not be appealing to everyone, but for those who require a more special type of car can opt to choose AMG styling packages or off-road.
2017 Mercedes GLS – Design and Modeling:
The 2017 Mercedes GLS’s exterior will be designed in such a way that will reflect modern harmony and luxury to an outstanding effect. Details in the chrome like under-guard, roof rails, shoulder trim strips, side skirt trim, and luggage compartment handle will be featured so as to encourage highlights which are attractive. The sports exterior that will be available on the 2017 Mercedes GLS will provide an appearance that is muscular while consisting of a unique rear and front apron, flaps on its sides that are painted in the car’s color, side running boards, and 21 inches AMG light alloy wheels. It will feature individualization options that will come courtesy of a variety of metallic and standard paint finishes.
The Mercedes GLS’s interior will have a 3 spoke multi-functioning steering wheel that will have leather that is made from Nappa and a freshly designed instrumental panel that will have color media display. There will be an added option of a system for ionizing air which will provide better air quality in the car’s interior. The car will also have other interesting highlights like ambient lighting with three color shades, a wide range of trim levels that have been generously proportioned on the panel of the instrument and door panels that will have cup-hole covers that are retractable. The 2017 Mercedes GLS will be optionally provided with advanced connectivity and infotainment by the latest technology of COMAND on-line that will have a color media display of about 8 inches and a touch-pad that is very intuitive. There will also be a revamped package of Remote On-line Services and Standard Services will be available for the vehicle. The Remote On-line Service will allow access to information from the car at any place and at any given time which includes the condition of the door, windows, tire pressure, mileage, and other diagnostic information.
2017 Mercedes GLS – Whole Power Unit:
The 2017 Mercedes GLS SUV will have two petrol engine options and one diesel engine option which will end up providing improved performance all over the line of the model. One of the petrol engine options will be a powerful V8 Biturbo engine that will feature direct injection and have the capability of generating 455 hp, which will be 20 hp more than the previous model, and 516 lb-ft of torque so as to combine an outstanding performance that is capable of monitoring comfort to a high level. The other petrol engine will be a V6 Biturbo 3.0-liter engine and it will feature a direct injection making it capable of producing 362 hp and 369 lb-ft of torque which will come from 1,800 rpm, and like most GLS models, it will have an ECO function for starting and stopping. The 2017 Mercedes GLS will also have a V6 diesel engine that will be rated at 255 hp and with an adequate torque of about 455 lb-ft. All engine versions of the GLS will feature a nine-speed 9G automatic Tronic Transmissions as standard and there will be an option of combining it with a low range gearbox and a center differential lock.
2017 Mercedes GLS – Release Date and Price:
The Mercedes GLS’s release date was set to 2016. Pricing for the GLS was not officially announced but for the GLS450, it is expected to be around $67,000 and for those who upgrade to the GLS550 may end up paying up to $92,000.
