The Nissan Leaf 2017 or new name Sway is indeed a luxurious electric car that pushes the boundaries of driving. The manufacturer has been producing electric cars since 2003 and is well recognized in this field. However, the first electric automobile they produced was quite noisy and failed to reach the expected sales target. Consumers are expecting this model to feature some changes both in the interior and exterior. It will arrive in the auto market with an enhanced powertrain though the exterior and interior design will not be far much different from its predecessor. Higher trim levels are expected to possess 30 kWh battery.
Nissan Leaf 2017 – Stylish Exterior Design:
In terms of exterior design, the new Nissan Leaf 2017 crossover will share the same platform with the GT-R which resembles the Maxima. Much of the revisions will be effected on its front end which will feature a more conventional design. The spy shots taken shows losing much of its current alien look, however, the rear end will not change so much apart from the shorter and wider tail lights.
Most of the interior redesigning will be featured in the dashboard which will adopt fewer control buttons, unlike the current version. Customers should expect a pleasant high-class infotainment system adopting a premium audio system with satellite radio, USB interface, Bluetooth wireless phone and audio connectivity.
Nissan Leaf 2017 – Powerful Engine:
Actually, most of the changes for Nissan Leaf 2017 will be adopted by its new battery package, which will feature Lithium Ion Battery Technology. This battery is expected to be more compact than the previous Leaf and will be capable of attaining up to almost 180 miles of electric range.
According to the Nissan Sales representative, Nissan Leaf 2017 will be available in two powerful battery packages. The base model will adopt 84-mile range package while an optional upper trim level will offer 110 miles’ range. Both packages will be capable of generating up to 107 hp at 240 lb-ft of torque with top speed of 94 mph, though the 30 kWh per hour will not be available as standard in the European auto market, therefore, consumers will have to spend more to acquire this awesome model. It will come with a single speed manual transmission that will transmit power to its front wheels. The fuel economy is expected to be 129/102 mpg.
Comparing new model with Tesla which shares most of its features, and is the main competitor to Leaf, Tesla lacks the supercharging technology in some of the markets, while this system has been fitted for the Leaf in all the countries. Furthermore, Tesla is quite more expensive than Leaf. The new supercharger in Leaf system will generate almost 110 miles per charge.
Nissan Leaf 2017 – Release Date and Price:
There is still no information from the manufacturer regarding the release date and price for the 2017 Nissan Leaf. However, it is expected to feature in the auto world at the end of next year or probably during the first quarter of 2017. Customers are anticipating that it will not deviate too much from the previous pricing of around $30,000 for base trim levels and $40,000 for higher trim levels.
