2017 Porsche Boxster Release Date, Engine

The Porsche Boxster was first launched in 1996. The mid-engined roadster is now in its third generation. The German automobile manufacturer has released a number of models of the car, each with its own name. Some notable names include 550 Spyder, 986, 987 and 981. The automaker is planning to release a new model, 2017 Porsche Boxster, which will also be known as 718. The new car will get an excellent design, featuring innovative body parts and advanced technological features.

2017 Porsche Boxster – Exterior and Interior Specification:

The new 2017 Porsche Boxster will borrow some features from the outgoing models and also from Cayman GT4. Most of its body parts will be made of aluminum. The car will thus be light, something which will significantly improve its speed and fuel efficiency. The body will be streamlined and will have some sleek lines made to give the car a sporty look.

The front fascia of Porsche Boxster will feature a redesigned grille, larger air inlets, and a new bumper. The rear side will feature an apron consisting of two diffusers. There will also be a larger spoiler and LED-infused taillights in this side of the car. Other exterior features include aluminum doors, manually operated roof and lightweight 20-inch wheels. 2017 Porsche Boxster will have a roomier cabin than other cars in its class. There will be enough space for the driver and the passenger and their small-sized belongings. The entire cabin will be glazed by leather and other top quality materials. At least three engine options will be available for the new Porsche roadster. The main engine will be a 2.0-liter flat-6, capable of producing 300 hp. It will be paired with a 6-speed manual transmission. The car will be able to accelerate from 0-60 mph in 4.3 seconds and attain a top speed of 180 mph with this engine.

Another engine will be a 2.5 liter flat-6, with a capacity of 350 hp and 266 lb-ft. The automaker may decide to replace these engines with a 4-cylinder one.

All the engines will have improved fuel efficiency and performance. They will also give out lesser emissions than other engines of the same category. Fuel consumption will be around 22 mpg in the cities and 32 mpg on the highways.

Competition of new Porsche:

The new Porsche Boxster two-seat car will face rivalry from Jaguar F-Type, BMW M3, BMW Z3, BMW Z4, Nissan 370Z, Honda S200 and Mazda Miata.

2017 Porsche Boxster – Expected Price and Arrival:

Starting price will be around $57,000. There will be at least 9 configurations, and each will come with its own price. Spyder will be the highly refurbished model and will cost $83,000. Released date is expected at the end of 2016. The new 2017 Porsche Boxster will be available in other markets outside Europe by the second half of 2017.
