Tesla is undoubtedly leading the pack, but the 2017 Porsche Mission E unveiled at the 2015 Frankfurt Auto Show is the coolest and the most impressive competitor seen so far. The sleek sports car is a step forward by the company towards the competitive electric car industry. It is also a strong a statement from Porsche that it is seriously bringing competition to rival brands from Tesla Motors. The Porsche Mission-E is the first completely electric car of the German Marquee manufacturer.

The new model will have classic Porsche proportions with the same design elements as the popular 911 and 918 Spyder, as well as Porsche’s racing cars. It, however, has additional exciting innovations including matrix-like LED headlights and vertical air inlets that help in aerodynamics to give the car a futuristic, expressive face. The traditional rear view mirrors are replaced by cameras which accent the car’s sleek, clean lines. The car has four doors that open suicide style.

Inside the car, there is a Porsche’s new car connect system that allows the car owner to change performance settings, entertainment, and information remotely through their smartphones or tablets. An eye tracking system in the cabin detects which controls the driver is viewing at, with a holographic center display allowing users to access apps and other functions with touch free hand gestures. The 2017 Porsche mission E has a proposed Turbo Charging system that will charge the car to eighty percent in just fifteen minutes. This is made possible by an 800-volt port and use of smaller and lighter copper cables that will be used by the vehicle. On the other hand, the batteries can be recharged wirelessly through inductive charging.

The floor pan is made of aluminum, high-strength steel as well as carbon-fibre reinforced plastic. The car features two luggage compartments, one up front under the bonnet with the other one which is relatively smaller beneath the fixed back window. It has four seats with heavily structured designs, integrated headrests, and ultra thin backrest for both front and rear seats.

Boasting of an 800-volt electric engine, capable of hitting over 300 miles on a single charge, the 2017 Porsche Mission E generates more than 600 hp through two permanent magnet synchronous motors, that can propel it from zero to 62 mph in less than 3.5 seconds, with a range of 310 miles. The sport’s car top speed according to Porsche is 155 mph.

2017 Porsche Mission E – Release Date and Price:

The 2017 Porsche Mission E-sport was unveiled at the 2015 Frankfurt Auto shows. The official release date and price have not yet been announced. However, according to the German company, the Porsche mission E production edition is most likely to appear in 2017. If so, this would be an exciting prospect and a fair competitor to Tesla electric car models.
